IKM Deliver EPOS Network to London's Premier Exhibition Organisation. EC&O Venues is a privately owned company and its owners have a clearly defined vision for the future - to create a landmark leisure attraction centered on the core business of exhibitions, conferences and special events. The plans that have been put in place to achieve this vision will ensure that Earls Court and Olympia remain London's venues of choice and that the business continues to buck market trends and enjoy steady growth. In 2007, planning permission is being sought to build a small casino in Earls Court One. The achievement of this project will facilitate investment in the fabric of the venues - new and refurbished exhibition spaces with improved and easier access - allowing it to widen and increase the variety and number of events its holds each year.

Earls Court & Olympia, London's premier exhibition organisation looked to IKM to enhance the computerisation of their catering activities.

Assessment

Earls Court & Olympia Ltd elected to computerise and co-ordinate all stock movement and catering sales activities within bars and restaurants both Olympia Exhibition Halls The installed infrastructure would also need to provide connectivity to the existing administration Network.

Project

IKM Network Communications Ltd, already had been associated with Earls Court and Olympia Ltd for many years, and from a short list or potential suppliers, was selected to design and implement a network which would allow Earls Court & Olympia Ltd to record all stock and sales movements.

The complexity of the project was greatly enhanced due to the fact that the implementation needed to be co-ordinated around live exhibitions and concerts being held throughout the project lifecycle whilst maintaining existing network activities. At the conclusion of the three-month project IKM had successfully delivered the EPOS network to all restaurants and bars. IKM continue to provide updates and support to this critical site.

Olympia exhibition halls now have a fully functional EPOS network with the added benefit to other network requirements thanks to the extended Fibre Backbone network installation.
