A Blown Fibre system can provide an exceptionally flexible and cost effective solution to manage evolving network infrastructures, without the need for initial capital expenditure or detailed forward planning.

Designed initially as a backbone fibre solution, the flexibility of blown fibre has now allowed for its inclusion up to the desk, within some forward thinking networks.  Blown fibre achieves its cost effectiveness and flexibility by separating the network into two distinct elements, which are: Duct Infrastructure (passive) and High Performance Optical Fibres.

IKM has elected to offer the Sirocco® Blown Fibre System as our premier solution. Sirocco® allows optical fibres to be deployed on demand from any position to any other location using compressed air to blow the fibre into the pre installed ducts. Constructing your network using this system has numerous advantages over the traditional fibre installation such as:

Network Design Flexibility: The ability to install micro-ducts now, with a view to designing and implementing the full solution at a later date.

Deferred cost: Initial installation of ducts and the fibre needed at the outset can defer the overall installation costs over a number of years and suit future requirements

Ease of upgrade: Pre installed ducts mean that new fibres can be blown into a live environment with no disruption to the existing network or staff.
