The Solution

Prior to commencing the project, we worked closely with the Main Contractor to gain a full understanding of the complex specification and also to confirm our full compliance to each individual package. By working simultaneously on multiple disciplines IKM could provide a fast and cost-effective solution delivering both the Landlords demise and the fit-out of the 120 Apartment project.

In completing this project IKM have provided the following: –

Each apartment with a Structured Data cabling system with the capability of deploying up to 4 voice connections into either a BT or Hyperoptic Broadband service. Up to 8 x Category 6 outlets located within habitable rooms.

Installed a backbone infrastructure to enable incoming Broadband services to be distributed throughout the entire building.

Provided an Integrated Reception System to offer Terrestrial & Sky HD+ signals throughout the building using a Single Mode Fibre Optic backbone linking to a Satellite Roof Array. Provision of Terrestrial, FM/DAB & SKY + HD and SKY Q to all apartments from day one.

A Samsung IP CCTV Security scheme deployed within the block. The system installed acted as a standalone network for the purposes of Concierge use but was also integrated into the site-wide campus security system controlled within the Estate Management offices.

A fully networked Comelit VIP Video & Audio Door Entry system integrated with Paxton Access Control equipment to provide each apartment with a colour door entry wall phone as well a Vandal Proof Video panel at each entrance and underground car park positions.

The Outcome

Each apartment is fully enabled with an IT infrastructure to meet the needs of today’s technology for voice, data and broadband connectivity. The residents have access to Terrestrial TV, FM/DAB and SKY +HD with an easy upgrade path to SKY Q.

The building has been approved and signed off by leading Security Consultants Secure by Design who were completely satisfied with the installation and associated documentation. Residents have access to the building and car-park via pre-programmed fob keys. They each have a Video door entry handset to allow guests and visitors access to the building, this is also linked to a Concierge desk on the Ground Floor. The CCTV system is monitored from the Concierge desk as well as the remote Management Suite which provides round the clock security.
